Falling Into history
Its aspect is that of a stone medieval fortress, where, at the right side of the entrance the tall and famous tower, Torre Guelfa, stands out. This tower is among the tallest in the city and was built by the Florentine family Buondelmonti, one of the two families involved in the fight between the Guelfs and the Ghibellines. Later on the Buondelmontis sold the palace in 1341 to Niccolò Acciaiuoli , who occupied an important position under the kingdom of Naples. In the 20th century the hotel underwent important restoration, bringing back its original medieval atmosphere. The palace is protected by the Florentine Fine Arts Consortium, which must preserve all historical buildings in Florence. From the tower terraces, which are accessible only for our hotel guests, one can admire the stunning view of the city and surrounding hills while sipping a nice glass of wine. In full view are Palazzo Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, the Duomo and Baptistry, the Vasari Corridor and the Arno river banks. The best of Florentine medieval and renaissance monuments lie at your feet! You become a witness of one of the most important artistic cities in the world!
